Gucci designs $290 iPad case

by Wendy on Jul.03, 2010, under Others Fashion News

If owning an iPad doesn’t do enough of a job showing off your pretentious attributes, luckily Gucci is coming out with a line of cases priced at around half the cost of the device.
That’s right: high-class fashion company Gucci is coming out with three designs for the iPad. We already saw the Louis Vuitton iPad cases and now Gucci is offering a few iPad Case options as well.
Right now versions include black rubberized Guccissima leather and GG neoprene. More styles are set to be released in October, including the familiar GG imprimé fabric in mauve and military green, with additional releases expected a bit later .
The top of each case features a strap closure. And Gucci made sure to keep the inside of each case in mind when designing their designer iPad case. The inside is lined in suede which will keep the screen clean and from being scratched. A case made of patterned canvas will cost $230, a neoprene version will be available for $250, and the cream-of-the-crop leather-bound case will sell for $290.

Dior fall 2010 collection 3D Handbag

by Wendy on May.30, 2010, under Dior Handbag

This Dior 3D designer handbag is made from teak colored calfskin leather, which you might probably find too plain and simple; but examining it more closely would show that this bag has all the luxe in the world. Well okay, I need not exaggerate, but this bag is just so luxurious, indeed. It looks timeless with its rather plain design and structured shape, and I love how the seemingly upside-down wave effect of the leather flaps is done and it actually brings subtle design to this entire bag. Interesting enough, this also comes with a spiked silver clasp that holds the brand’s initials. Its handle also looks chic as it combines braided leather with metal brackets.
The Christian Dior 3D bags will arrive in the markets starting August along with its various versions, including black and a rosy petal colors, as well as lizard, python, and croc. The small version of the 3D bag will sell for $2,200 and the medium version will go for $2,400.

It is a collaboration between Takashi Murakami and LV and features Murakami’s superflat artwork printed on LV pieces.
We are excited by Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami collaborations. Cosmic Blossom Collection comes in three colors (Rose, Blue, and Violet). For leather goods, Louis Vuitton has developed a technique that gives the pieces a glossy effect and vibrant color. The bags are emblazoned with a heritage Louis Vuitton signature similar to the one printed in Neverfull bags.

Louis Vuitton Makes Cases for Apple’s iPad

by Wendy on May.25, 2010, under Louis Vuitton Handbag

Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton said it will begin selling a case for the Apple iPad at its Fifth Avenue Madison store this Friday, with additional stores carrying the products in June.
The simple, sleek Louis Vuitton’s case will cost $390 and come in two signature patterns, the traditional Monogram Canvas and Damier Graphite design.
Louis Vuitton also said a more exclusive alligator version will be available this summer.

At left, the Louis Vuitton iPad sleeve in monochrome Damier Graphite. At right, the sleeve in the label’s classic Monogram.
But what’s a few hundred to protect your investment in a gadget that costs as much as a home? If you decide to stick with the regular case, the price of the Louis Vuitton sleeves are definitely much steeper than a number of other options out there. However if you are someone who is very particular about what your gadget casing should look like, then look no further. The LV iPad sleeve is clean and sleek, and your treasured tablet will be very secure in it. And now that you know what the real top end of the iPad spectrum is, perhaps even a bit of a bargain.

Marc Jacobs handbags Spring/Summer 2010

by Wendy on Apr.26, 2010, under Marc Jacobs handbags

If any of you doubted my criticism of Marc Jacobs handbags for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons, take a look at the above pustulous concoction. He did some bags that aren’t as bad, like the bags below, but the majority of the collection were, sadly, some sort of grossly overly tasseled design. Marc Jacobs has been at the height of the fashion industry since the nineties, for both his imaginative and beautiful designs. Just last season, the collection was fabulous, but it seems he went waaay past imaginative/creative into the realm of eccentric/strange. Oh, well, I certainly haven’t written him off, I’m sure he will come back to reality and make more designs that people actually like.
The bags below represent some of the other handbags from the upcoming collection, and they are simply boring and have the cringe worthy super long straps.

Coach Handbags Spring / Summer 2010

by Wendy on Apr.21, 2010, under Coach Handbag

Since the late 1980’s the Coach label has slowly, but surely been stepping up it’s branding to be the number one affordable, designer handbag company. Coach quickly became renown not only for their style but also quality. With an expanding company and product line, we continue to expect and be given innovative lines and multiple collections every season.
Coach bags receive quite a bit of flack from many handbag enthusiasts. And while this may be the case, Coach continues to be the brand that starts many people’s handbag obsession on their way into other brands while remaining the go-to brand for many as well.

With each passing season they get better and better, offering more high end bags, but always designing their staple quality handbags for under $500. The bag above, from their 2010 spring/summer collection is one of their high end bags, a metallic python hobo. It’s a beautiful bag and will probably retail around 2k. The white tweed pictured below is a runway collection bag, so it will be upwards 1k, but in the world of designer handbags, that’s nothing. Last pictured is a floral Audrey bag and is one of their wildly popular logo bags, but in a fresh, spring-y design. The logo bags are usually quite affordable, with prices between $200-$500. It’s marked down about 60% at Hownice handbag
